Blue Night (November 2007)

DONATED
I gave this to my brother in law in Dec 2007, who is an adolescent psychiatrist. It hangs in his office at the Sunnybrook Hospital. (He has 2 offices) I hope it gives teens a feeling of calm, mystery, and quiet inspiration as they learn to navigate through the rougher waters of their growth.

Solitude (Nov 2004)

Moments of solitude.... sometimes cherished, other times feared. I gave this painting to a friend, and when I borrowed it to take a picture for my blogg he kept on asking when he would get it back! He has it again, all is well!

Calm Heart (May 2007)

I painted this after taking a yoga class which made me feel a sweet calm. I used to whizz by this painting in my front hall and when I glanced at it, it reminded me of that relaxed feeling again and helped me to remember to cherish the moments and not rush through everything in life. A very special person in my life... Lucy asked me for this painting "for keeps" so that she could take it home to her family in Vietnam with her this summer. It now hangs in their home in Vietnam.

Mr. - My very first person painted (July 2004)

This is the first painting of a person I did in a five half day intensive painting course. At the beginning of the week I struggled to paint this man because I disliked all the greys, browns, and blacks. Well, I must add that I also found him dated and unattractive. I also didn't have any clue as to where to begin to sketch him but.... 15 hours later... and voila!!! By the end of the class I was sooo excited and told my classmates that I loved this guy and practically kissed him on the canvas!!!!

A little me (Jan 2005)

When I painted this girl it was as if she painted herself right before my eyes. Every brush stroke flowed with ease, calm, and beauty. It is one of my very favorites.

SOLD

Sweet young lady (July 2007)

I just loved painting this. Once again it was as though I was connected to a part of me that was bigger than myself. With red wine, beautiful music and my kids asleep, I tackled this piece over a series of late but very enjoyable nights.

My journey (June 2007)

SOLD
It was very peaceful for me to paint this because I started with a large blank canvas and a desire within me to paint it. I had no sketch, and no plan of what I wanted to paint that evening. It just came to being!!

Hey Sweetie Art

My girlfriend got me into painting.....at first I laughed at her and told her that I could never stand still for a 3 hour/week painting class. Eventually she talked me into trying it. The 3 hour class whizzed by as though it was only 10 minutes long. I was mezmerized and in awe of the little yellow apple I had painted all on my own! Need I say more? I have been painting ever since that class....which was over 5 years ago. I have taken many painting courses over the past 5 years and continue to take classes. While I paint, I also continue to learn.

Painting reaches a part of me that I simply can not put into words. Sometimes I feel like the canvas is painting me.....instead of me painting the canvas. It brings me joy as I access my deeper creative self, a part of me that seems to have been in hibernation since I was in grade school. I only paint what I love... and usually with a non-judgemental mind.... love what I paint.

I paint with bright colors almost always, and as you will see.... I love to paint what I often think is a younger version of myself, as well as many many hearts. My art is quite girly and hopefully invokes different feelings, and thoughts in each person. Some of the art you will see is my original creation. Other pieces I have painted from a picture or greeting card that captured my heart.

I sell my art, have been commissioned for a piece, and also hang my art on the walls of my home for my family and I to enjoy. I also like to give some of my art away to organizations where I feel my paintings will have an uplifting or inspiring impact on people who are struggling with life's unpredictable and difficult challenges. I would like to think that each good deed I do in my life and from my heart, some how in some way, helps to make this world a brighter, kinder, more compassionate place.

I hope that you find a calm and happy place within yourself when you reflect upon my art. I also hope that if it is your dream, you too can find a place and a space to express your own unique and beautiful creativity within this universe.
